Four-time JUNO Award winner and two-time Grammy nominee Jane Bunnett has spent her career blending intricate Afro-Cuban rhythms with contemporary jazz, introducing North American audiences to Cuban greats like Pedrito Martinez and Dafnis Prieto. Her latest project, Maqueque, is an all-female Cuban sextet that has taken the jazz world by storm. DownBeat raves that they deliver “a clave-induced set of Afro-Cuban, booty-shaking world jazz that would have made Dizzy smile.” Experience their infectious energy and vibrant sound live at Dizzy’s Club.
